June 12, 2008 The Section of Appeals of Lithuanian State Patent Bureau rejected interested person’s Philip Morris Products S.A. opposition No. 1702 against Aktsionerno droujestvo “Bulgartabac Holding” trademark “bridge”. The Section of Appeal stated that although graphical trademarks are compared, evaluating general impression of these trademarks is obvious that the main elements in these trademarks are verbal: words “Marlboro” and “bridge”. And the graphical elements are essentially different too. The provided evidences did not show that trademark “bridge” application was filed having unfair intentions as well. Therefore the opposition No. 1702 was rejected and registration of the opposed trademark was left in force.
