On April 16, 2009 The Appeals division of Lithuanian State Patent Bureau satisfied opposition No. 2275 of the interested person UAB „Mūsų laikas“ regarding cancelation of the trademark „Mano laikas“ registration owned by UAB „Idėjų amžius“. 

The Appeals division stated that trademark of the interested person is compounded of the word “mūsų” (“our”) which is filled with standard small letters and placed into the red rectangular and also it is compounded of the word “laikas” (“time”) filled with small scalene blue letters. The opposed trademark “Mano laikas” (“My time”) is verbal filled with standard silver letters where the first letter is capital and the rest are small. The main predominant element – word “laikas” (“time”) – in the comparable trademarks are coincident. Alongside this element following words are “mūsų” (“our”) and “mano” (“my”) in this case they are notably similar, because in both cases it is possessive pronouns and they prescribe certain thing – in this case - time. Consequently comparable trademarks are considered as similar visually, phonetic and conceptually due to the main coincident element of both trademarks (“laikas”; “time”) and coincident grammatical construction (possessive pronoun + identical noun).
