On August 4, 2009, The Appeals division of Lithuanian State Patent Bureau has satisfied opposition No. 2050 of the interested person SOCIETE DES PRODUITS NESTLE SA regarding the refusal of protection of the International trademark „Columbia GOLD, fig.“ owned by Unisel Co, SIA (Reg. No. 921377).

The Appeals division stated, that if comparing opposed trademark with the earlier figurative trademarks, it is obvious that the view of coffee beans and a scoop is almost identical, though presented secularly. As a consequence the opposition was satisfied and International registration of the trademark „Columbia GOLD, fig.“ was invalidated.
