On April 20, 2010, The Appeals Division of Lithuanian State Patent Bureau has satisfied opposition No. 2263 of the interested person RADO UHREN AG regarding the refusal of protection of the National trademark “RADO.LT” Reg. No. 57077 owned by UAB “Infotelos linija”.

The Appeals Division has stated that the main element of the comparable trademarks – RADO – coincides; therefore marks have general visual similarity. Moreover both marks are written in standard type, capital Latin letters. The comparable trademarks are highly similar phonetically and meaning of the word RADO may be derived either of the Lithuanian word “rasti” ("to found") or as an artificial word. Considering all the circumstances, it has been stated that the opposed trademark RADO.LT is confusingly similar to the earlier trademark “RADO” of the interested person.
